A Case of Chlorpromazine Induced Priapism

Abstract

|
Priapism is a well recognized complication of some oral medications. Those most commonly cited are: antipsychotic drugs, especially the phenothiazine: trazodone and chlorpromazine : and the antihypertensive drugs hydralazine, guanethidine and
prazocin.
We report a case of priapism associated with the use of chlorpromazine who experienced 2 episodes of priapism and never experience priapism after cessation of the drug.
